Namaste.
So let me start this introducing myself – My name is Marty and I am an 29 year old Australian travelling in Nepal for 6 months.  During 2007 whilst living in London, I was diagnosed with a stress related muscle disease called Fybromyalgia.   After seeing numerous specialists, I was told that my cure would need to come from natural therapies.  This is how my interest in natural healing & especially reiki was born.
I did the Reiki level 1 course at the Nepal Reiki Centre in October 2009 over 2 days.  For my first day, I was taken through all the introductory elements of Reiki and was told what to expect from the initiation the next day.  I remember being very excited about the attunement as I had been waiting for this day for at least a year!
For me, the first attunement was amazing!!  I arrived at 7am and the actual initiation took place first.  During this intitiation, it is hard to describe the feeling I had other than I definitely felt a presence of energies both entering & circulating around my entire body(ies).
The initiation was followed by what would be my daily practice for 21 days.  I was shown exactly what I should be doing each day and how to do it.  If Im honest, I didn’t expect to feel as much energy as I did both during the initiation and immediately afterward in the practice session.  My first experience of feeling divine energy flowing from my hand s into my body was something very special for me.    At the conclusion of the day, I left with my practice CD feeling very relaxed and also excited about the coming weeks and months ahead.
I was required to practice once a day for 21 days with the CD and I was also able to practice with Guruji as well which I continue to be very grateful to him for.  Over this 21 day learner period, I felt my touch healing energies growing stronger and my ability to concentrate on the Reiki energy became easier and easier with time.  I do remember 1 particular practice session vividly at the centre, I remember having what felt like an avalanche of energy entering my body from the top of my head, for me, this was maybe one of the best feelings I have ever had in my life!!
So after practicing and learning 12, 20 and 24 point touch healing I was now looking forward to taking the Reiki level 2 initiation.  Again the course was over 2 days and the first day was all about learning the theory and the symbols.
During the second level initiation, again its hard to put into words other than saying that I felt lots of different energies flowing throughout my body and in the practice session that followed, the Reiki energy seemed to flow with a much higher vibration than after taking the first level.  This continued into the level 2 practice meditations which followed. I begin to realize just how powerful Reiki is.  When I felt divine light entering my third eye chakra it was like someone was pressing my forehead with their finger.  Again, I left the level 2 initiation with my practice CD feeling blissfully relaxed and as always, deeply appreciative to the divine nature of universal energy.
So this brings me up to now where I continue to practice level 2 and continue to experience the amazing feelings that come with Reiki.  I wish to send my deepest and sincerest thanks to Guruji for his guidance, kindness & love throughout my time in Nepal!!

Reiki Teaching Hospital Campaign
Thankot - Seeds of a Reiki Hospital! We envision the possibility of soon owning our own Reiki Teaching Hospital and serving society both nationally and internationally by giving initiations and spiritual training for people’s well being. This will be the first Reiki Teaching Hospital of its kind in the world. Part of it will be located in Thankot, some 15km West of Kathmandu, on a small property made available by Mr. Maheshwar Lal Shrestha. The land, which has access to electricity and water, faces West over the broad, luminous valley leading to Pokhara. You can see photos of this beautiful hillside spoor on the CAMPAIGN page of this website. I want to add the conclusion we have reached so far on the Reiki Teaching Hospital. It is that the campaign has already begun, with our wide experience of social service and our discussions about expanding it. Let us continue to generate practical ideas every day. Rod Walker also will be participating actively. I am confident our unity and understanding of each other will get it off to a good start, and that is already half the job. (To give this good start and strong foundation to the Reiki Teaching Hospital campaign, we are preparing Reiki Orientation Courses, Practical Reiki Workshops, Voluntary work and other activities on an ongoing, regular basis, with special focus on the significance of Reiki to an integral physical, emotional and spiritual health awareness. We shall offer these services to visitors to Nepal - people interested in Reiki from other countries – and offer them the chance of sharing Voluntary work with us on the Hospital Campaign. We are confident these activities will generate the necessary funding to locate the smaller-scale activities in Thankot. This is how we intend to water the seeds that will grow into a Reiki Hospital. I declare my ongoing intention to guide this process permanently, from its beginnings right through the journey of my life, in the cause of helping, serving, healing. I call on all of

you to join me in this task. With all the power of our community of Nepal Reiki Meditation Centre, we will build the Reiki Hospital, and so achieve a better world, one of greater fullness, happiness and health. Finally let me add that ‘Self support is the Supreme Being’s support’. To achieve this holy purpose, we must all work hand in hand, helping one another, serving and supporting one another as we work to finish the task we’ve undertaken. To heal the world we must begin with ourselves, working together and following the Dharma path of right principles, which enable new things to happen. May the eternal, infinite Light of Reiki shine over us for ever. Lama Ngawang Rigzin "Vishwa Bandhu".
